The pictures below were taken at house party thrown by Kirk at his cool
home in Laurel Canyon.
The place was packed with people surrounding the pool and the living
room was going off
with DJs spinning funky house and breaks.

During this month my valiant steed (my Mercedes) finally gave up the
ghost. It refused to pass it's
smog test so eventually the man from Aids charity came with a tow truck
and my friend for the last five years
disappeared into the sunset. The next three weeks Enterprise rentals
provided my transport.
Thanksgiving
Brad and Lisa are two of my friends who are living in sin together.
This year I was lucky
enough to spend thanksgiving with them and their parents at the Burlingham
residence in Newport Beach.
Thanksgiving gives me the opportunity to increase my knowledge of American
football, conversations with old people and
deserts masquerading as vegetable side dishes.

Palm Springs and the Ocotillo lodge
Palm Springs is very hot and very dull.
A good place to go and lie in the sun and do nothing or create your
own insanity.
Brad's family have a condo at a 1950's resort named the Ocotillo. A
group of us rented other bungalows surrounding
the large pool. This weekend we had booked out the "party room" (a
strange 70's style piano bar just off the
hotel reception) and for almost eight hours we spun records and got
up to our usual kinds of mischief.
Before the party started a "progressive pot luck /birthday celebration"
took place. With various food
severed in various bungalows located around the resort.

Having arrived in Palm Springs in a rental, I returned to Beverly Hills
with new car.
Well, new to me. As I drove downtown I spotted the Rolls out of the
corner of my eye and
an hour later all paperwork had been done and the car was mine.
The car was born the same year as me! A 1969 Rolls
Royce Silver Shadow.
It had only 80,000 miles, a newly restored interior and an engine
so quiet you could hardly
tell it was running. This is easily the most fun car I've ever owned.
